Middle Eastern figs are known to have a long and rich history, with evidence suggesting that they have been cultivated in the Jordan valley for thousands of years. With so many different varieties of figs found in the region, there is much potential for further exploration and evaluation of their unique qualities. Despite this, local agricultural departments have yet to extensively study the many varieties of figs from the Middle East, which is a missed opportunity for discovering new and delicious varieties.
